Apache Trail Photos

In 1915 the Southern Pacific Railroad put together an advertising campaign to promote the Apache Trail. The photos on the left are from the private collection of historian Tom Kollenborn.

These photos were published in a post card booklet which was offered to customers traveling the S&P to or from California. Tourists usually removed the postcards from the booklet and mailed them to family members and friends.

Not much has changed along the Apache Trail over the past 100 years. Tourists visiting the Apache Trail can still experience the excitement of traveling down this historic highway in a vintage 1915 Model-T motorcar offered by Sunset Route & Apache Trail Auto Tours.
